My new baby!

So one day, Yoshimi noticed that one of her friends was looking for someone who would take her old serger. Recycled Cargo pants

  Sidra seems to be in constant needs of new pants. Several pants got short in what feels like overnight, the others got ripped and torn. Apparently it is rough out there playing with the boys. I told Sidra that I was going to make him a new pair of pants and asked if he had any special request. He immediately said that he wanted his pants in camouflage print. Weekend, March

Last Saturday we went to meet Doraemon and his friends! Actually, we went to Fujiko F. Fujio museum in Kawasaki. If you’re familiar with the blue earless robot cat, Fujiko F.Fujio is the man who created this anime character. The museum was just opened in September last year, so it is pretty new. The tickets had to be reserved weeks before, and we finally got our ticket scheduled to last Saturday. Pink Pendrell and Zebra print Kasia

  The sun is shining today so I can take some pictures of my recent sewing. Here’s another combo of  Kasia and Pendrell that I finished a couple of days ago. When I made this Kasia skirt for me, I wasn’t quite sure if I would be wearing it often. Turned out that the skirt has become one of my wardrobe staples that I reached often. Side pleat dress (Butterick 5672)

I found this pretty double-knit wool while I was supposed to buy something else in Okadaya. It happens a lot, doesn’t it? Anyway, I bought a meter of it without knowing what to made of the fabric. I browsed through my pattern stash and found this Butterick 5672. From the pattern envelope: “Close fitting, lined dress has left side invisible zipper, left dart and left pleats from drape effect.” Looks perfect! The instructions are very clear-written. Stick bag

  After finished his swimming school, we promised Sidra that he could start learning martial art, something that he had been asking for sometime. He didn’t want karate though, fortunately there is an Aikido club at the community centre. Sidra has attended several classes and really loved it there. The teachers are several old men, they are such fun teachers and the kids love them. Aikido requires little physical strength, as it basically uses the force of the attacker and redirects it, it is good for self-defense. Because of this nature, Aikido doesn’t use weapon. My Mini Me

Like many other bloggers who are inspired by The Colette Sewing Handbook, I f0llowed suit in the croquis bandwagon. Here is my mini-me! I didn’t feel like setting up my camera today, so I browsed around my photos and picked one that is close enough. Pistachio green coat (Burdastyle Sewing Handbook)

  I’ve always wanted to try making a coat for myself but somewhat scared of it. When I found out that there is a coat pattern in The Burdastyle Sewing Handbook, I knew that it was time to face my fear! I went to Yuzawaya and got myself some pistachio green tweed wool and lining fabric in stripes pattern. The pattern in this book has no seam allowances and needed to be traced.
