There are several request for the kitten’s post surgery clothes from the last post. Since I had to make more for the shelter, I documented the process for this tutorial. These clothes are meant for female kittens or puppies to wear after they have a surgery, usually spay surgery. For male kittens or puppies, the clothes usually have a ‘pee hole’ in the front part, but I didn’t have the chance to make one. The size is pretty small, the kittens that I made these clothes for weigh about 1.5-2 kg. Disclaimer: For personal use only. Please do not pass […]

Cockroach plush tutorial
A cockroach plushie? Who needs cute bear or cat plushies? I’m sure every boy would love a huggable cockroach! This is Sidra’s favorite toy at the moment, he calls it Gokiburi-kun (gokiburi means… well, cockroach). The cockroach is basically just an oval shape pillow with legs. The wings and head are made with leftover dupioni silk that I dyed brown. The original color of the silk was silver, and the shimmers would make a perfect cockroach. The body is made with cotton/linen fabric with interesting texture, leftover from my husband’s shirt. Fancy your own giant cockroach? Carry on! Disclaimer: For […]
Pointed hood tutorial
These hoodies were inspired by a children book, みんなのこびと (cub label) (Minna no Kobito) by Toshitaka Nabata, or loosely translated as ‘Everyone’s Kobito’. I made them for the Once Upon a Thread event at No Big Dill. Check out my story and pictures over there! The fabric is cotton knit, very soft and comfortable. The hoodies will be good addition for Sidra’s wardrobe in spring. The body of the T-shirt and pants are made with commercial pattern. Disclaimer: For personal use only. Please do not pass off the pattern and tutorial as your own. Thank you! Click to download POINTED […]

Bag dimensions in approximate: from top of straps to bottom of bag: 50 cm / 20 inches height: 28 cm / 11 inches width: 40 cm / 16 inches Fabric needed: I don’t know because I used leftover fabric for my bag. You can print the pattern and place it on your fabric to make an approximation. It is only one piece of pattern. Fort similar bag, you can check Charlie bag by Burdastyle ($1.99). It is a bit bigger and has squared bottom. Please go to the bottom of this post to download the PDF pattern and tutorial. Disclaimer: You […]
Tissue case tutorial
I’ve used my new sewing machine to make these very simple tissue cases from scrap of linen fabrics. They are basically a lined fabric rectangle folded to meet at the center. I make the outer fabric longer than the lining fabric so it automatically folded inside, because I don’t like the lining fabric showing at the edge. It also eliminates the need of topstitching. The tutorial is only two pages, but please tell me if something is not clear in it. Disclaimer: You may use the finished products for both personal and commercial use (craft shops or markets only – no […]
Wallet tutorial
Here’s the tutorial for these wallets! The tutorial includes two variation of the closure, one with tab and velcro and the other with fabric loop and button. For the tutorial, I made a pair of wallets from pink Japanese cotton fabrics, one in polkadot and the other one in floral pattern. The beige linings are Indian cotton fabrics. I hope the colours of the fabrics are not too muted in the pictures. The tutorial can be downloaded below, it’s a 7 pages of PDF file. Please contact me if you have any difficulty downloading it, or if anything is not […]
Mini wallet tutorial
Yay I finished it! This is the tutorial for the mini wallet in this post. For the tutorial, I made a pair of mini wallets in Japanese cotton with colorful houses pattern on it. I really enjoyed making them and the tutorial. The tutorial for the bigger wallets is still in progress, and it will be posted soon when it’s ready! As it would be too long as a blog post, the tutorial is made it into a pdf file that can be downloaded here. Please contact me if you have any difficulty downloading it. This is also my first […]
