Everybody know how hard it is to find nice clothes for boys. Now you think that you can always make them yourself, but where’s the sewing patterns?! It seems that nice sewing pattern for boys are even harder to find.
So I was very excited when I heard about Sewing for Boys by Shelly Figueroa and Karen LePage from Patterns by Figgy’s. This book features 24 projects to make a handmade wardrobe for boys. All sewing level is welcomed here, from beginner to advanced. It’s about time we have books like this!
I have finished one project from this book, the Henry shirt pattern, and really love the result! It is tagged as an advanced project, but there are lots of other projects in the book in beginner and intermediate sewing level.
I think all the projects in this book really consider the fact that boys are meant to run around and carry lots of stuff in their pockets. The clothes are designed to be comfortable for daily wear and easy to put on. The simple lines of the design are versatile, different kind of fabric and patterns can be used to achieve different looks, from formal to casual.
Next on my list is this Luka hoodie! In addition to the big front pocket, the hoodie also has a secret pocket under that flap. Yay for more pockets! The days are getting cooler now so a hoodie is good addition to Sidra’s wardrobe.

How cool a book just for boys!! Girls ideas come naturally so this would be very helpful!
Thanks for the giveaway 🙂
Hopefully I will be the winner, soalnya baru punya baby boy.
This book would be perfect to help my efforts to sew for twin 4 year old boys that are long & lean – they don’t fit well enough in many boxier, readymade clothes. Such a style upgrade is a huge bonus! Thanks so much for the chance!
i love the projects featured so far in this book tour=i can’t wait to get a copy!
thanks for the giveaway.
Thanks for letting us know! I think this would work really well for girls, too! My daughter likes running around and sometimes girl patterns can be a bit too precious.

I love all those pockets! Thank you for the giveaway.
This book would be great! I’m hoping to do more sewing for children to ease my way into full-fledged sewing for me and adults.
The baby in the first picture with the Blue romper and those cute fat cheeks?! I want to nibble ’em!
I’d love to win!!! My 2 boys’d love to have something sewn just for them—more than just pjs 🙂
I am so excited to see a book filled with boy patterns. There are tons of beautiful dress patterns for my daughter out there. He would love for me to make him something other than costumes.
This is a great opportunity. I have been following the blog tour and am more and more excited about this book. If I don´t win it in a giveaway I will definitely buy it! Thnaks for the opportunity!

I love your corduroy version of the Henry shirt too, and his logic sounds like my kids!
I would love to win this giveaway and be able to sew for my little nephew. His second birthday is coming up at the end of the month, and I’d love to be able to make some hand-made gifts, as opposed to store-bought.

I am so pleased to hear that this book has full sized patterns, not to mention somewhere to store them! It looks like a winner, and with three boys to sew for, would not go unappreciated in this household.
