A little sewing project that I did yesterday, my instant gratification! Of course it was a new set of bra and two panties. This time I didn’t used my usual Pin-Up Girls pattern, but Merckwaerdigh PBH30. The pattern is for push-up underwired bra, bustier, bodysuit, and thong bodysuit. I’ve used the pattern before to make this blue bodysuit. I made a little alteration to the bridge between the bra cups. Spring flowers set
Instead of packing like what I was supposed to do, I made a new set of bra and panties yesterday. I was packing in the sewing room when my eyes rested upon this wonderful lycra fabric in my stash. The flowers pattern looks like a blooming garden in spring, and suddenly I felt that I need to make something with it right that very moment! iPad case
We just got the new iPad last week and I made a case for it so I can bring it everywhere. You know, in case I need to play some DrawSomething…. The fabric is microsuede leftover from my zebra skirt, it is stiff enough so I didn’t need to use interfacing. For added protection, the case has thin batting between the layers of fabric. The flap closes with magnetic snap. It is such a simple case, finished in about 15 minutes. Instant gratification FTW!
Side pleat dress (Butterick 5672)
I found this pretty double-knit wool while I was supposed to buy something else in Okadaya. It happens a lot, doesn’t it? Anyway, I bought a meter of it without knowing what to made of the fabric. I browsed through my pattern stash and found this Butterick 5672. From the pattern envelope: “Close fitting, lined dress has left side invisible zipper, left dart and left pleats from drape effect.” Looks perfect! The instructions are very clear-written. Making bra and panties is a sort of instant gratification for me. They only need little fabrics and don’t need much space for cutting the pattern. And with each lingerie project that I’ve finished, I gained more knowledge on what way is the best for attaching things. This new set was made with bra and lingerie notions set from Merckwaerdigh. Birthday pants
Yesterday was my husband’s 41st birthday! We made a little celebration in the morning, blowing candles and eating ice cream cake. Sidra gave my husband a handmade card with his own drawing on it and a little gift.
Cotton knit lingerie set
Another new set of bra and panties that I made yesterday. Nothing really special, no frills nor lace as I wanted something simple this time. The fabric is cotton knit by Liberty of London. I need about half yard to make the whole set. The bra pattern is Pin-up Girls Classic Bra #1230, size 30C. This is a classic full band bra that can be made with or without underwires. I sewed something today! No, not a dress, but a lingerie bodysuit. I was always curious with this type of lingerie, but couldn’t bring myself to buy something so expensive that I wouldn’t wear often. Black and white lingerie set
I always get nervous before going on a trip, and sewing is a way to calm myself. It is sort of like meditation to me because I have to put other thoughts aside and concentrate on this particular task. Another lingerie set! Nothing really new with them, I use my usual Pin-up girls pattern for the bra in size 30B and Merckwaerdich pattern for the panties. All notions are from Merckwaerdigh at ebay, which is enough to make one bra and two panties. The lingerie set is made with lycra and stretch lace in very soft rose colour.
