Merckwaerdigh PBH30

Merckwaerdigh PBH30

I sewed something today! No, not a dress, but a lingerie bodysuit. I was always curious with this type of lingerie, but couldn’t bring myself to buy something so expensive that I wouldn’t wear often.

The pattern is Merckwaerdigh PBH30 that I won sometime ago at Merckwaerdigh ebay auction. The pattern is for push-up underwired bra, bustier, bodysuit, and thong bodysuit. The fabric and notions are also from Merckwaerdigh, but the tiny bow and the hook and eye set is from Yuzawaya. I should have used white hook and eye set, but that was I had in hand at the moment.

Although I usually wear 30B, but from my previous experience, I found out that my cup size for Merckwaerdigh is 30C. The body is in size S. I can’t say that making this bodysuit is an easy thing, but it was sure a great experience! The bodice is still a little bit too long for me, maybe because I’m not tall. The fit is still great, but it can be better. Next time I will reduce the length of the bodice.

The bodysuit is quite comfortable to wear, although obviously not meant for summer wear. But I can imagine wearing this in colder weather and enjoying the advantage of having my stomach covered.

It. Is. MAGNIFICENT!!!! I’m jealous that you’re so teensy first and foremost but seriously, that is exquisite lingerie! You should be so doggone proud of yourself. I haven’t made lingerie in a bazillion years but you’ve re-ignited that thought! Thanks for sharing!!!!

So absolutely beautiful. I wouldn’t know where to start with lingerie. It looks so complicated and fiddly. You must have so much patience… you certainly have a good eye for beautiful design!

Your body suit is so pretty. I have made my own bras, but never thought of making a custom body suit until I saw your post. I am thinking of one made of lycra fabrics to firm and smooth my bumps and lumps. Thanks for the idea.
