Summer Concert Tee – Pattern Parcel #1

Summer Concert Tee – Dixie Diy

It is already March but why is it still soooo cold here in Tokyo? I just can’t wait for the warmer weather to arrive so I can wear other things than coat! Here is a tee that I made for the hopefully warmer weather next week. The pattern is Summer Concert Tee by Dixie DIY.

The smallest size of this pattern (XS) is for bust size 34″. Since my bust size is 31.5″, I printed the pattern at 93% and cut size XS. I think it would make me size XXS for this pattern.

The pattern is drafted for 2-way stretch fabric such as jersey and single knit. Since the tee is only fitted around the bust, I think it is okay to use other fabric that is not as stretchy as single knit. If you want to do this, make sure that you cut the collar band longer than the pattern suggested. This is what I did because my fabric is some sort of very closed together mesh fabric that is not very stretchy.

I sewed everything on overlocker and only used sewing machine for the topstitching around the collar and the hem.

blog button 150The tee pattern is part of Perfect Pattern Parcel #1, a bundle of PDF pattern by indie designers. I was offered to participate in the blog tour for the parcel and given all the five patterns in the parcel. The retail value of all the patterns is USD48, but the great thing is you can choose how much you want to pay! Part of the pattern parcel sale will go to Donor’s Choose, an organization that matches up the needs of teachers and their students for specific projects with willing donors.

The first parcel is on sale for a limited time right now. There is five patterns in the parcel. I have made the skater dress, so it means I still have three more awesome patterns to try!

I think it is a great way to support independent pattern designers! To celebrate the launching of Parcel #1, they are also having a  giveaway with prizes of over USD250 in fabric shop gift certificates. Enter here!
