Red is such a hard color to photograph! I just finished this red cardigan yesterday. The knit fabric is indeed wonderful. It is a bit transparent but surprisingly warm with fuzzy surface and tiny heart-shaped holes all over it. Too bad the pictures don’t show the fabric well.

The pattern is Pris, I bought it as PDF pattern from Tamanegi Kobo, a Japanese pattern shop. The pattern is in Japanese, but the drawings and diagrams made it really easy to construct it. The original pattern was mid-hip length, but I lengthened it about 20 cm because i don’t like anything that stop on the middle of my bottom. I also omitted the left chest pocket for a simpler look.

The cardigan has a slight gathering on the back that looks really cute. In the original pattern, the gathering will rest on the upper part of the bottom, accentuating it. But in my version, the gathering makes the long cardigan has a slight balloon-like shape.

I made the cardigan on my Janome sewing machine, using zigzag stitches with width set on 1 and length on 3 as I usually do for sewing jersey. The raw edges are simply zigzagged. I’ve used this technique several times for sewing knits and it worked fine.

The new length makes the cardigan can also be worn as a tunic or dress in my case. It is warm enough for the upcoming spring, but not too bulky as winter clothes. The shape is simple that means it can be worn over many outfits. Likey!

PS: Sorry for my sad face, I got a killer headache last night! (>_<)
