Zebra print Lady Skater dress

To tell you the truth, I’ve never heard of Kitschy Coo before they released the Lady Skater dress pattern a few months ago. Every version of the dress that popped up around the net is looking so good that I couldn’t resist joining the bandwagon. Here’s the description of the Lady Skater dress pattern from the Kitschy Coo website: “This funky yet functional knit dress has a fitted bodice, scooped banded neckline, a curved flared knee-length skirt, and options for trimmed cap sleeves, or banded ¾ length sleeves or long sleeves. It’s designed to flatter the figure with a waistline that hits […]

Pink bra set

A new set! It is made with lingerie kit that I won in a Merckwaerdigh ebay auction sometime ago. The bra pattern is my usual Pin-Up Girls #1230 size 30D that has been altered to 26F. The cups are lowered a bit for a demi style. I also changed the back style a bit so I can wear the bra with this dress without the band peeking. The band has one row of hook and eye instead of three that I usually wear, but the band is still wide as I like it. Making your own bra is so fun […]

Lace Racerback Bralette

This one is a bit different than my usual bra. No underwires, no openings, no lining, just some stretch lace fabric and elastics! The pattern is Merckwaerdigh BHS10 pattern that I got sometime ago. It contains a mix of 5 different bras, including soft bra, racerback bra, soft lace bra, underwired bra, and a padded bra. It is wonderful that you get 5 bra in one! I made the soft bra on the upper right, but changed the back to the racerback one. It is basically a bralette as the bra doesn’t offer much support. I usually wear store-bought soft […]

Striped bra set

Hello! I made a new set of bra and undies yesterday. This is actually a test bra and so far I’m quite satisfied with the result. As I’ve mentioned in my previous post about bra, I’ve been using A Sophisticated Pair’s bra calculator to help me find my correct bra size. With my 26.5 inches band measurement and 31.5 inches bust measurement, the calculator gave me the size US 28E for moderately snug band. This time I wanted a very snug band, which requires the size US 26F. The cups for 26F are actually the same as 28E and 30D. […]

Pink Pendrell and Zebra print Kasia

The sun is shining today so I can take some pictures of my recent sewing. Here’s another combo of  Kasia and Pendrell that I finished a couple of days ago. When I made this Kasia skirt for me, I wasn’t quite sure if I would be wearing it often. Turned out that the skirt has become one of my wardrobe staples that I reached often. I decided that it  is time for another Kasia! As before, I printed the pattern at 92% and used size 38. I love this method -instead of merely shortening the hem- because it makes the shape and details of […]

Yet another floral bra

I’ve been cutting up my old clothing again! Here’s another dress that I made last year but I’ve rarely worn since. I guess I have problem with showing bare shoulder…. I cut it up to make another non-stretch bra. This time I added a trim along the bustline, made with white stretch lace. The pattern is my usual one, Pin-up Girls Classic Bra #1230 in size 30B with the same alteration as the previous non-stretch bra. I didn’t line the lower cup this time, but topstitch the seam allowances and trim them close to the seamline. This is the suggested way as […]

Lingerie Sewing Club – Guest posting at Studio Costura

Sometime ago I was invited by Karu from Studio Costura to join her Lingerie Sewing Club. It is a series of posts on her blog by sewing bloggers who make lingerie projects using materials from Studio Costura shop.   I chose these kits from Studio Costura shop and made a couple of lingerie sets: You can read more in my guest post at Studio Costura blog here! Disclosure:  The bra kits were sent to me for free. However, all views and opinions expressed are purely my own.

Rite of Spring Shorts and Kommatia crop top

I was browsing the newest collection on Papercut Patterns’ website when I caught the sight of these shorts. The Rite of Spring Shorts is actually from their old collection, it has been around for several years now. Somehow I have never thought of them before. I happened to have some leftover denim that would be perfect for this pattern! The shorts have a quite flattering detail with the side seams moving forward at the top. To accentuate this interesting side seams, I topstitched them with rust-colored thread. The rise is quite high for my petite frame so I shortened the length […]

Red lace set

First post in 2017! I have so many finished sewing items that haven’t been posted yet. I’m trying to work through them though, taking pictures and posting eventually. I found this red stretch lace in a small fabric store in my neighborhood. It is sort of an outlet store that sells out of print and end of rolls fabric so the collections changed all the time. Recently they had new batches of colorful stretch lace sold in 2 m cut length. I’m probably the only one in my neighborhood who is interested in all those stretch lace so prepare to see more colorful […]
