Striped T-shirt

A quick sewing for my husband. This is Strathcona Henley pattern by Thread Theory in straight size M, made up in striped viscose knit. I omitted the sleeves and hem band as my husband doesn’t like them. Both hems are simply folded over and topstitched with zigzag stitches. I used to think that zigzag stitches screamed ‘homemade!’, but now I like it. Homemade (in love) is a good thing! T-shirt pattern is Strathcona Henley by Thread Theory, size M.

Finlayson sweater

I made this shirt as a last minute gift for my husband several hours before our Christmas’ Eve dinner. So glad to have my trustable sewing machine and fabric stash! The pattern is Finlayson sweater by Thread Theory. I made variation 1 in size M. I really love how the squared neckline and the shawl collar have added such interesting details to an otherwise simple item. The fabric is double knit jersey in navy. My husband doesn’t like cuffs, so I eliminated both cuffs and hem band and lengthened the sleeves and body a bit. He really likes the simple zigzagged finishing […]

Jedediah shorts

His favorite pair were made four years ago, and were actually muslin for his jeans so it’s about time for a new pair. Instead of using his much-tweaked jeans pattern, this time I’m using Jedediah pants pattern from Thread Theory, I got it as a part of Parkland Wardrobe Builder package that I bought sometime ago. Jedediah pants are described as “Chino-style trousers updated with a slim, casual fit, back yoke and stylish slash front pockets. These […]

Selvedge men’s jeans – Full of Patterns 07

Sometime ago I posted that I wanted to make a pair of  selvedge jeans for my husband and have started making the muslin. It turned out that ‘sometime ago’ meant 8 months ago! Yikes. The good news is, the jeans are finally finished now! And actually it only took me two days to make them, just in time for my husband’s 44th birthday! The pattern is Men’s jeans FOP-07 by Full of Patterns, a Japanese pattern shop. The site is completely in Japanese but it wasn’t a big problem as I always use Google translate extension on Chrome to browse and even order things […]
