Birthday giveaway! – CLOSED

Thank you so much for all the sweet messages on my birthday post! I’m sorry if I couldn’t reply to all, but I read all the messages and they brought a warm feeling to my heart. Sidra was not feeling well and he didn’t go to school, while my husband was working at home, so all of us just stay at home today. But there were so many messages and best wishes from everybody from all over the world! Internet is wonderful and scary at the same time, isn’t it? Anyway, it’s now time for a birthday giveaway! I love […]

As time goes by

I’m 39 years old today! … Some people has said that I look a little bit younger than my actual age. In fact, the reaction people made when I told them my age made me felt like I’ve just confessed a big lie. Of course I didn’t lie, I just didn’t see any opportunity nor reason to talk about my age. But yeah, I was born in 1971 and the eighties happened in my teenage years. My first perfume was Electric Youth by Debbie Gibson, I bought it in a supermarket near my high school in 1989. When I was a […]

2010 2010 = 40!

Today is my husband’s 40th birthday! Sidra and I had been thinking about a present for Papa, and he (sneakily) suggested that I should make a plush doll for Papa. Actually my husband likes plushies and other cute stuff, but he never bought one for himself because… , well, because he’s a grown man, I guess? So I think it’s time he has his own plush toy. I let Sidra choose a plushie pattern from Funky Friends Factory, but this time I went directly to the website to buy the PDF pattern. Sidra chose this Platypus pattern for Papa, it’s a […]

(Another) Striped T-shirt

It has been quite sometime since I made clothes for my husband. Sometimes I feel a bit guilty about it, I want to make many things for him, but it’s that he doesn’t need any more clothes that he already has now. He takes care of his clothes and of course he doesn’t grow up quickly like Sidra that he always need some new clothes. I made him this jacket for his last birthday. He still wears it and it still look as good as new. I was thinking of making another jacket or a pair of pants, but then […]

Happy birthday Papa!

Today is my husband’s birthday! \(^.^)/ Sidra had been saying that he wanted to learn sewing, so I suggested that he sewed something for Papa’s birthday present. He excitedly agreed, and we went to the nearest fabric store. Sidra picked this loose weaving red and blue fabric, put it on himself and looked into the big mirror. Then he said that he would make a scarf from this fabric. The store attendants seemed amused to see a little boy running here and there choosing his own fabrics. It was his first time with the sharp fabric scissors and needle, so […]

Dinosaur bag tags

Tomorrow is Sidra’s birthday and also his first birthday in Japan. The end of March to the beginning of April is school holiday in Japan, so he will always be celebrating his birthday at home. Fortunately, the moms from his kindergarten class are arranging a picnic tomorrow, I think it’s great because Sidra can spend his birthday with his friends. I’ve been planning to make something for Sidra’s friends, but as usual I got lazy and keep postponing until the last day. This morning I woke up thinking that I should just buy some cookies and candies for the kids. […]

Birthday Jacket

I almost can’t believe I finally finished it! This jacket is supposed to be my husband’s birthday present, but I miscalculated the working time. His birthday was last Monday, and I’ve forgotten that there would be two days weekend before that, in which I wouldn’t be able to sew. And I couldn’t sew on Monday too because Sidra had one school day off after the Sports Festival. The pattern is The Stinchcomb, downloaded from BurdaStyle, and after printing it, I ended up with 67 A4 pages that I was supposed to tape together. The whole living room floor was covered […]
