Here’s Sidra in his new suit!
The trousers have thigh-length partial lining. I connected the seam allowance at the inseam using chain stitched thread.
Sidra had a blast at the graduation day yesterday, laughing and taking pictures with his friends. Some of the girls from his class were crying as if they will never meet again, but actually most of them will go to the same junior high school.
This is a picture of us in front of our old apartment before going to Sidra’s elementary school entrance ceremony. And the second picture is us in front of the house after the graduation ceremony. Everyone’s getting older now. How time flies by!

Oh my gosh, the suit is absolutely glorious! Fabulous job, lady! It’s so gorgeous! And Sidra looks so handsome! Congratulations to you on the suit and to him on graduation! Oh- I just thought of something! My tailoring teacher just showed me a trick for partial pants linings like that. He cuts the lining on the cross grain so that instead of hemming it, you can just use the selvage as the hem, if that makes sense, to avoid a bit of bulk.
That’s a good advice! I will do that next time I make lined pants. Thank you!
Wow, that’s a labor of LOVE if I’ve ever seen one.
He is almost as tall as you now!!! Believe me when I say that I am not one easily swayed by children, but I have to say, Sidra is just darn freakin’ adorable! And that suit! Do you think you can send me some of your sewing skills to borrow for a day?
How wonderful? Can I say that Sidra looks adorable or is he too old for that? :). He certainly looks dapper in his suit!
Your Sidra looks so handsome in his new suit! Beautiful job on the suit. Beautiful family!
Wow. Ganteng sekali! Amazing workwomanship!
This is so impressive! You do such amazing work. Looks fantastic on him.
What a wonderful suit! How nice to have a custom-made suit.
That suit is better made – and much more fashionable! – than most suits businessmen wear every day!
Fantastic suit, Sidra will never wear a RTW suit that is for certain.
Wow, what a wonderful job you did with the suit!
This is amazing Novita! It is impeccably done!! I am so impressed.

PS: Girls are so dramatic!
Yes they are so dramatic! Of all the sixth graders, only five people will go to different high school. And the junior high school is right in front of the elementary school :P
Thanks for posting. It looks just perfect! Congratulations to Sidra!
Your sewing skills are truly amazing! And congratulations to Sidra. He has grown up so much since I started reading your blog!
Very inspiring! Wonderful photos :)
So beautifully done, so well made. Looks fantastic. And not sure which family photo I like better – younger or older. Both terrific!
You can tell he’s feeling so confident and dashing in that suit! What a gift you have and clearly Sidra appreciates the love put into his new suit <3
I’m glad that he’s excited about the suit! He also asked me why I didn’t make him a shirt as well :D
Gorgeous! What a lucky boy to have such a talented mum.
Fantabulous and wonderful to have made such a lovely suit for your son’s graduation. I have to say you look more confident now than as your younger self! Aging isn’t all bad! I like the first pic of Sidra – your boy has attitude!
Thank you! I want to embrace aging! :)
What a gorgeous family. Sidra looks so sharp in his suit.
