Sequin Linden T-shirt and Ninni culottes

Have you seen the Spring/Summer 2017 collection: The Playground, from Named Clothing? It is inspired by the practicality and simplicity of childrenwear. I’m all about practical and comfort so I was very excited about this collection. It is launched two days ago and I immediately picked the simplest pattern to make, The Ninni culottes. Esme maxi cardigan and Linden sweatshirt

I’ve been wearing my wool coat that I made a couple of years ago everyday this winter. It’s a really great coat but I got a bit bored of it, so a simple long cardigan seem to be a perfect alternative. The pattern is Esme maxi cardigan by Named patterns. I made size 34 with lots of shortening alteration, 2 cm above the waist and 10 cm below the waist. Kielo wrap dress #2

In my previous post about my Kielo wrap dress, I mentioned that I wasn’t quite happy with my fabric choice. So here is my second Kielo wrap dress! The fabric is quite interesting, it is actually two separate layers of thin jersey connected together around each dots. Not much to say about alteration nor construction. The only difference that I made for this dress is finishing the armhole and necklines with knit band instead of bias binding. I’m quite happy with this version! Kielo wrap dress

  This is the second dress that I made from the fabrics that I bought in Indonesia. The beautiful print and color combination caught my eyes immediately. The price is also a bargain at about USD5/meter. The fabric is stretch polyester and quite slinky. I knew that I wanted to make a dress with it, preferably with as little seamlines as possible so the beautiful print wouldn’t be cut. Basic colors

In my previous post, I talked about my plan to sew more solid neutral colors. I have many printed fabric in my wardrobe that can’t be worn together because they would clash. So a few plain tops and bottoms are in the sewing plan this year.   There’s where these two came into my plan. Laurie tee

My second Named Clothing pattern! This one is called Laurie striped tee. Here’s the description from the website: “A classic T-shirt with wide horizontal pleats on front that create a striped effect. A loose-fitting and casual model with short sleeves. Choose and elastic tricot, preferably quite thin. Jamie jeans

I noticed Named patterns for the first time when I read Cathy’s post in Treadling in Benin. And when I checked them out, I immediately loved the patterns. Named patterns is a new indie pattern company from Finland, they offer PDF patterns with clean lines, simple looks and interesting details. For my first taste, I ordered Jamie jeans pattern.
