Esme and Bella Panties – Evie la Luve

I stumbled upon Evie la Luve‘s patterns when I was browsing my IG feed the other day. As I’m always interested in trying out patterns, I got myself a couple of panties patterns, the Esme and Bella panties in this pattern bundle. You can also buy them separately. The Esme panties have cross over design, while the Bella panties are made with stretch lace allover. Both panties have very low waistline, so you might have to pay attention with this. I happen to love low waistline, and usually lower every panties pattern so these patterns are perfect for me. Both patterns come […]

Favorite pattern – Merckwaerdigh BHS10

These three bras are made with the same pattern: Merckwaerdigh BHS 10. This pattern has now become my favourite! Here you can see how the same pattern made with different fabric can look quite different. This one is made with grey jersey and has a racerback with no closure. You can see from the photo that it is not very ‘lifting’. This is because the outer layer and lining are both stretch jersey. This is my sleeping bra though, so I like that it is not restricting and the cotton jersey is quite comfortable. The second one is made with stretch […]

Pattern testing: Sophie Swimsuit

Summer is here and it means another good reason for a new swimsuit! Luckily a couple of months ago I was offered to be one of the pattern testers for Sophie Swimsuit by Closet Case Files. This swimsuit has classic silhouette and very flattering balconette cups. “View A is a classic one-piece with a pronounced hourglass shape and skinny elastic straps. View B mixes a bra-style halter tied top with an elegant high waisted bikini bottom. With a low cut leg and a full cup, both offer sexily modest coverage.” Initially  I made view A in a quick muslin version only […]

Red lace set

My newest set! The bra is made with Marlborough bra by Orange Lingerie. The first time I made this pattern, the fit wasn’t too great. Since then I have made several alterations to perfect the fit for my body, such as: narrowed the centre piece because I have very little space between breasts very narrow cradle gothic arc on center front back strap extension If you notice, these are the alterations that I have always made on my bra recently. The cradle and band on all my recent bra are pretty similar, only the cups are different. It is also important to find out […]

Kawung batik print set

Several months ago I was contacted by Contrado about their new fabric printing service. It was actually the first time I heard about this company. When I checked out their website, I was impressed with the number of fabric options available. They have 80 options of fabrics from canvas, jersey, even scuba and waterproof ripstop! Then I had to decide what I want to make. A summer dress? A raincoat? Canvas bags? I was a bit overwhelmed. If you want to order from Contrado, I really recommend to order their swatch pack first to have a feel at their full range of fabric. […]

Baby blue and white lace set

If you like bra making, you have probably heard about Maya bra by Ana Filimon. It’s a 3 piece cup bra pattern, available in wide range of sizes, and it is free! This pattern uses different method for finding the bra size. It needs two measurements: underbust size and wire size. With these two measurements, the bra size can be found in the available size chart in her site. I found that my size is 30D, the same as my usual size for most bra patterns. Ana has put up several pages of very detailed sewing instructions, although it is still not finished. I […]

Coral floral set

The thing about making bra is that you can never know for sure how the fit is until you finish it. That is why I often have hesitations in trying new bra patterns. My go-to lingerie patterns are Merckwaerdigh’s. They have so many patterns and I can be sure that they will fit me as always, so why trying something new? Well, why not! Lately the bra patterns by Orange lingerie seem to be everywhere around the sewing blogs, so I got curious. At the end, I’m happy that I got curious! For this set I use nude coloured lycra from Okadaya in […]

Sewing in 2015

It’s the last day in 2015! Let’s take a look back to my sewing journey this year. Womenswear More variations this year. Culottes, jacket, jeans, shorts, skirts, dresses. And I’m happy to say that most of them get lots of wearing time! Lingerie Why do I love making lingerie so much?? I still can’t stop making them this year! Sidra I only got to make him this suit that he wore to elementary school graduation. Then he got into junior high school and since then he is in uniform or sports uniform all the time. No new clothes needed. That’s […]

Neon yellow set

I’ve been playing around with this neon stretch lace fabric that I got sometime ago. The fabric is very stretchy and transparent. For the first set, the pattern is Merckwaerdigh BHB40. The pattern set has two underwired bra pattern and two bodysuit with low leg cut patterns. One of the bra is actually has three-piece cup although the drawings show that both bras have two-piece cup. This came as a nice surprise for me as I have planned to draft a three-piece cup bra. The notions are from the Basic Kit that I got from Makebra. They has the best foam padding that I have […]

Summer date dress

Since Sidra entered Junior High School, he becomes very busy with all the school activities. He even has to be at school on weekends for his sports club activity. My husband and I got a bit lost on what to do as the three of us usually did things together on weekends. But we have to get used to this. Eventually Sidra will have to be by himself as he grows up so maybe it is time to start letting him go. One of the thing that my husband and I are starting to do at weekends is having a […]
