Fortune cat tote bag

My new tote bag! Actually I wasn’t planning to make more bags but then I found this canvas fabric with interesting panel print. One panel is showing a Maneki Neko or Fortune Cat, and the other panel is Mountain Fuji. The print is interesting enough that I want to show it off as much as possible with simple lines and no visible topstitching. That is why the straps and facing are tacked to the bag with small rivets.   I left the bag unlined and bound all the raw edges with twill tape. The wide bag straps are quite wide so […]

Merckwaerdigh Wings (BHST2) and Harriet bra

Recently Amy from Cloth Habit has just released her newest pattern, the Harriet bra. You’re probably already familiar with her previous pattern, the Watson bra, that is very popular. The Harriet bra is an underwired bra with balconette neckline and 3 piece cup seam. The sizes range is pretty great, from 28A-42H. I think this is the widest size range available in one bra pattern that I have ever encountered. Amy wrote more about Harriet bra in her introduction post here. The Harriet bra has similar seamlines as one of Merckwaerdigh pattern, Wings. This PDF pattern is also listed as BHST2 in the […]

Esme maxi cardigan and Linden sweatshirt

I’ve been wearing my wool coat that I made a couple of years ago everyday this winter. It’s a really great coat but I got a bit bored of it, so a simple long cardigan seem to be a perfect alternative. The pattern is Esme maxi cardigan by Named patterns. I made size 34 with lots of shortening alteration, 2 cm above the waist and 10 cm below the waist. FYI Named patterns are drafted for height 172 cm, that is why I have to do lots of shortenings for my 150 cm height. The fabric is grey sweatshirt fleece with brushed side in […]

Neon pink lace set and harness bralette

Here’s another Merckwaerdigh BHS10 view C that I’ve made several times! The lace is stretch lace in neon pink that is very hard to photograph. I’ve used similar lace in different color to make a couple of set here. As usual, the cups are lined with non-stretch lining and the band is lined with powernet. I use foldover elastic to finish the neckline and underarms and wide elastic for the band. The panties is Bunzies by Stitch Upon A Time, a very versatile pattern with three leg cuts (full coverage, booty and super booty) high and low rises, ruched back options, and […]

Red lace set

First post in 2017! I have so many finished sewing items that haven’t been posted yet. I’m trying to work through them though, taking pictures and posting eventually. I found this red stretch lace in a small fabric store in my neighborhood. It is sort of an outlet store that sells out of print and end of rolls fabric so the collections changed all the time. Recently they had new batches of colorful stretch lace sold in 2 m cut length. I’m probably the only one in my neighborhood who is interested in all those stretch lace so prepare to see more colorful […]

Rosita’s jacket and Tokyo Comic Con 2016

A couple of months ago, my husband asked me if I would like to come with him and a friend to Tokyo Comic Con in December. I’m not really a big fan of crowd so I just told them to go ahead. But then our friend suggested that we’d picked a character and do a cosplay. More reason to sew? Now I’m interested! I was thinking of dressing as one of the characters from Game of Thrones, but then I thought the flowy dresses would only be worn for that one day. I’m not planning to do a lot of cosplaying so I […]

Yoga set OHM – Schnittchen patterns

Here’s my contribution to Schnittchen’s Sewing Around The World project. In case you haven’t heard of it, the project features 12 sewing bloggers around the world sewing Schnittchen pattern. My pattern is called Yoga set OHM, it is actually from the Winter 2015 collection. As the name suggests, this is a set of patterns for tank top, leggings, and a sweater made of jersey. You can wear them for yoga and they are comfortable too for lounging at home. Schnittchen patterns also sent me the fabrics. They are organic cotton jersey from Lebenskleidung in Berlin. These fabrics are so beautiful and comfortable! These […]

Sarong monpe pants

Another monpe pants for my husband because he really loves the first couple of pants that I made him several months ago. The pants have elasticated waist, no side seams, one front pocket, and knee patches on the inside. The fabric is Indonesian sarong that I bought in Indonesia in summer holiday. It is cotton so the pants are actually more suitable for summer. I should make him another pair for autumn!   The monpe pattern is from Japanese shop Unaginonedoko.  This is quite an easy pattern. If you can make a pajama pants, I think you wouldn’t have too much trouble […]

Mesh nylon tote bag

This mesh nylon tote bag is very simple project that has quickly became a favourite of mine. I wasn’t planning to make a bag when I found this mesh nylon in the fabric store. This fabric is quite stiff with large diamond-shaped mesh. I thought it would make an interesting bag. The fabric is very easy to sew with thicker thread and longer stitches. I bind the raw edges inside with neon-coloured binding for added details. This binding is also necessary because the stiff raw edges are a bit rough and the cut mesh could easily catch into things in the bag. Sometimes it is nice to […]

Esme and Bella Panties – Evie la Luve

I stumbled upon Evie la Luve‘s patterns when I was browsing my IG feed the other day. As I’m always interested in trying out patterns, I got myself a couple of panties patterns, the Esme and Bella panties in this pattern bundle. You can also buy them separately. The Esme panties have cross over design, while the Bella panties are made with stretch lace allover. Both panties have very low waistline, so you might have to pay attention with this. I happen to love low waistline, and usually lower every panties pattern so these patterns are perfect for me. Both patterns come […]
