Meeting Yoshimi

Do you recognize these bags? Yes, on the right side is my bag, and the pretty bag with rosettes is Yoshimi’s bag! They were sitting together side by side on a wooden bench inside an Indonesian restaurant in Shinjuku. Lesson bag and shoes bag

This is Sidra this morning, about to go to his first day in second grade. I can’t believe how fast time is flying! He was entering first grade not so long time ago and now he’s suddenly a second-grade student. The school will finish early today, so he didn’t have to bring his randoseru (school bag). I made him those new lesson bag and uwabaki (inside shoes) bag yesterday. Herakuresu

You know, we actually have pet in the house, although I rarely talked about it. But we’ve almost never seen it around because it is living in a plastic box buried under a heap of soil. In fact, it hardly can be called a pet at all, because we can’t, you know, pet it or play with it. The only thing we can do is watching it while it’s growing. Fashion treasure

Do you have a fashion treasure? This coat is one of mine. It used to belong to my mother, she bought it in a small shop in France more than thirty years ago when she and my father went for a trip around Europe. The coat is unlined blue and white purl knit, the white pattern is consisted of white chains inserted between. New sewing machine!

The bad news is, my Janome Agneau d’Or Y101 is now officially dead. We took it to a Janome dealer last week, a little shop in a nice small street. A nice woman greeted us and she gasped when we showed her a piece of fabric with loopy stitches on it.  She then tried to move the wheel but it was stuck. It wasn’t stuck before!
