My name is Novita.
I’m a stay-at-home mom living in Tokyo with the two love of my life. This is the story of how I met my husband. I’ve lived here since May 2008, and I really love it here. Since moving to Tokyo, I began making stuff for myself and my little family. I want to be able to make my whole wardrobe!
I love Japanese patterns although I still can’t speak nor read Japanese, and I’ve made a lot of projects from them. The diagrams (and several lucky guesses!) really help me.
I also make a lot of patterns myself or altered them from various sources. There are tutorials for several simple projects that you can find in the tutorials category in this site. Please send me a message if there’s something unclear in the tutorials.
I hope you enjoy my blog and can find some crafty inspiration here. Click here if you want to subscribe to my blog in a reader. And if you’ve made something from my tutorials, please join my flickr page to share them.
Thank you for visiting!
♥♥♥ My husband’s page. When he’s not busy, he loves drawing.
♥♥♥ My son’s page. He makes his own toys from stuff around the house. He loves drawing too.
Equipments I use:
- Most of the pictures are taken by me using Panasonic Lumix G1, a small SLR camera with swivel LCD display. I took pictures of myself using this camera set on timer. I have two lenses, 14-45 mm and 45-200 mm, but mostly I use the 14-45 mm.
- Pictures from before November 2009 are taken using digital compact camera, Panasonic Lumix LX2. I love Panasonic!
- For editing pictures, I use Picasa when working on PC, or iPhoto when working on Macbook Pro. Sometimes I use Photoshop too.
- For drawing illustrations, I use CorelDraw!, a vector drawing software.
- Since February 2010, my sewing machine is Janome Equle CP 4850, replacing my Janome Agneau d’Or Y101 who went kaput after two years of hard work. My mother uses Janome too, and it’s still working well after more than 20 years of usage.
